Effective performance management implemented consistently across a team, department and organisation will promote clear direction, improved behaviour, targeted development and motivated staff. It also forms the basis of fair and consistent remuneration processes in many organisations.
Who will the course benefit?
This course is for Managers with some experience of appraisals who want to gain a deeper insight into how to use the tools for pro-active management and motivation of people.

They will explore how to use performance management effectively to motivate their teams and increase performance and results using a variety of tools and techniques.

Preparation: Preparing for review meetings and collecting/recording evidence.
Rating Performance: How to rate performance effectively and deliver the right messages to motivate and challenge: consistency, relativity and the importance of getting it right.
Development Planning: Explore development planning at a team and individual level.
Related Policies & Procedures: Understand the supporting performance related policies and procedures and how they work.
Under Performers: What an under performer actually is, what it isn’t and how they can be identified accurately, managed and motivated.
High Performers: How can high performers be identified accurately: managing and motivating high performers and how to recognise and avoid derailment.
