Management Development Programme

Background

The brief was to train and provide follow up support for 30 Field Sales Managers, who had previously received little or no management training. The objective was to create open, honest and strong leaders, who achieved results through their team.

Approach

We designed and delivered the following programmes:

  • Leadership and motivation

  • Coaching for results, with full accreditation procedure afterwards

  • Leading change

  • Managing behaviour

We linked each programme so that the learning was a consistent ‘journey’ which was received in an order that was relevant to the delegates needs. Following the training, we met each delegate on 3 separate occasions to observe a ‘live’ coaching session and on achievement of the required pass mark, they were accredited.

Results

The managers were better equipped to deal with the day to day running of their teams in addition to longer term planning. There was a positive impact on the skills of their teams in relation to achieving results and staff attrition. From the original leadership team, four individuals were equipped to apply for and succeeded in achieving a role at the next level up in the management structure.
