Who's this course for?

This course is designed for first time managers managers who would like to understand more about what management involves and how to get the best out of the people who report to them.

Overview

In today’s competitive environment, organisations are expecting their people to achieve more with less. Many technically competent individuals are promoted into management roles because of their ability. Often they need to spend less and less time doing what they are really good at, and more and more time managing people, sometimes with very little help with dealing with the additional challenges that a management role brings.

This one-day interactive and practical workshop will help participants develop the management and leadership skills required in their roles. Those present will be encouraged to relate management theories and principles to their own working lives and to prepare an action plan of what they want to do differently as a result of the programme. This programme will enable those new to management, or those who have had little formal training, to develop their skills and to gain confidence in their roles.
