1 trainer specialising in journalism leading the workshop with a cameraman filming the presentations.

Equipment needed:

The training venue needs to be large enough to accommodate 4 people comfortably and with plenty of space for filming and moving around the room. We will need 2 x flipcharts & stands and a projector please.

Will be supplied by Cybèle including joining instructions and the slide deck, after the event

Anyone who would like to improve their confidence in front of the media.

Overview

A bespoke hands-on media training workshop in which the attendees are questioned on credible, challenging and relevant scenarios by a professional journalist, view playbacks of their recorded interviews, and receive constructive, individual feedback on their performances. The interview scenarios are designed to reflect the kind of situations that might affect their organisation in the future or have affected it in the past: or a situation they know or believe they are going to have to deal with in the future

Objectives

• Understand the importance of knowing the media agenda and being fully briefed on the interview details.
• Prepare for a media interview
• Understand the importance of messages and what makes a good message
• Use ‘killer facts’ and deal with tough questions
• Know how to take control of a media interview
• Be more confident in handling media interviews, understand your strengths and any area to work on for further improvement.
