Who is this for?
Anyone who manages people and wants to understand more about mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and stress which affect one in four people in the UK every year.
These mental health issues are more common than you think and it is important that people are aware of different mental health conditions, so that they can be recognised and responded to appropriately. This introductory course will increase your knowledge and understanding of mental health and develop skills which will enable you to better respond to the needs of the people around you.
Course content
· Improve our understanding of what mental health is and how and why it can be affected
· Look at and consider mental health language
· Improve our understanding of signs of mental ill health
· Explore how to start and have positive conversations with those who are struggling, exploring non-judgemental communication and active listening
· Understanding our role as a boundaried Manager
· Explore where and how to signpost for additional support.
