Mental Health Awareness Matters: Building Stronger Workplaces

Why Mental Health Awareness Belongs in Every Workplace

Every year, 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health challenge such as stress, anxiety, or depression. Yet in workplaces across the country, these struggles often remain invisible. For employees, silence can mean isolation. For organisations, it can lead to burnout, absenteeism, disengagement, and turnover.

Creating Cultures Where People & Performance Thrive

Mental health is not a side issue; it sits at the very heart of employee wellbeing, engagement, and organisational performance.

The good news? These outcomes are not inevitable. With the right awareness, skills, and support, organisations can create cultures where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. That’s where Cybele’s Mental Health Awareness workshop comes in.

Mental Health Awareness

Mental Health Awareness is an introductory workshop that will help enhance your knowledge and understanding of how mental health can be understood better in the workplace and what the impacts of mental health can have on individuals and teams.

Why Mental Health Awareness Training Matters for Business

In today’s demanding work environment, well-being is more than an HR initiative; it’s a business imperative. Stress and burnout are consistently ranked among the top causes of absence and lost productivity. Left unaddressed, they impact everything from performance and morale to staff retention.

Organisations that prioritise mental health report:

  • Improved productivity: employees can focus, think clearly, and perform more effectively

  • Greater engagement: people feel connected to their work and committed to the business

  • Reduced turnover: employees who feel supported are less likely to seek opportunities elsewhere

  • Stronger cultures: openness replaces stigma, and trust becomes the foundation of teamwork

Simply put, good mental health at work leads to better results; but more importantly, it creates workplaces where people bring their best selves to work.

This starts with understanding and being aware of mental health in the workplace and that’s where our Cybèle Mental Health Awareness workshop comes in.

Introduction to WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan)

WRAP

WRAP is a structured system for monitoring wellbeing that helps employees build resilience through five key concepts: hope, personal responsibility, education, self-advocacy, and support.

By applying the WRAP framework, individuals create personalised strategies to recognise triggers, respond to stress, and sustain balance.

The aim is not to turn colleagues into counsellors. Instead, it’s about equipping people with awareness, empathy, and confidence - the skills to support one another while maintaining professional boundaries.

Why Employees Value Mental Health Awareness Training

For employees, this workshop offers more than knowledge. It creates a safe space to talk about mental health without stigma, to learn practical tools for daily resilience, and to feel part of a workplace that genuinely values wellbeing. Participants leave with:

  • Confidence to recognise early signs of struggle

  • Strategies to manage pressure and stress

  • A stronger sense of self-care and professional balance

  • An action plan to embed these skills in everyday life

This builds not only healthier individuals, but stronger, more connected teams.

Why Organisations Value Mental Health Awareness Training

For HR leaders and managers, the benefits are clear:

  • A healthier, more supportive workplace culture

  • Improved communication and collaboration

  • Leaders & managers equipped with confidence to respond appropriately

  • Reduced absenteeism and turnover costs

  • A stronger reputation as an employer that prioritises people

Integrating mental health awareness into training and development sends a powerful message: wellbeing is not an add-on -  it’s embedded.
